Move-in Day is Saturday, August 17, 2019. To help manage traffic, domestic students will be assigned a designated move-in time between 8:00AM and 4:00PM in late summer 2019. We are requesting that you arrive to campus within your designated move-in time. Staff and volunteers will be present to assist you with your move-in. Please know, that we are moving in well over 1500 students on August 17th, 2019 – help make the transition a smooth one by adhering to your assigned time and Move-In instructions once you receive them this summer.
Bear Beginnings activities for new students will begin at 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 17, 2019.
Check-in is located in the lobby of your residence hall. At check-in, you will receive your Bear Beginnings packet which includes the schedule, your Student ID, and your U-Pass. You will also receive your room key and other important information and documentation from Residential Life. Please be sure to bring a photo ID as only you may pick up your packet; family members are not able to do this on your behalf.
On move in day, you will have plenty of time to unpack and begin to meet you Residential Advisors (RA), your Residential College Directors (RCD) and your Washington University Student Associates (WUSA). Don’t forget to eat at Bear’s Den and visit the many information tables located around campus. There will also be tours of campus available and several receptions to attend.
To ensure a smooth Move-In, please label all belongings with your first and last name, residence hall, room number, and cell phone number. Consider using painters tape for labeling your belongings, particularly luggage or larger items.
If your family is planning to drive to campus, please read more about parking here to understand how parking works on campus. Because Move-In is occurring on a Saturday, parking on campus will be FREE. There will be no long term parking available on the South 40. More information will be made available in late Spring of 2019.
