Registration and Ticket Purchasing
Registration for 2013 Parent & Family Weekend will be available in September 2013.
We ask that you register for Parent & Family Weekend ahead of time, whether or not you plan to purchase any event tickets. This allows us to properly prepare for your arrival, ensuring we have enough printed schedules and your complimentary Parent & Family Weekend gift.

Many of our events are free, however, some events will required pre-purchased tickets.  A listing of those events will be available in September.  Some events, such as tours, do have a maximum capacity, so be sure to purchase your tickets ahead of time.  Please include your student in the number of tickets you plan to purchase.  You will be able to pre-purchase tickets on-line with any major credit card in September.
Schedule of Events
The 2013 Parent & Family Weekend Schedule will be available in September 2013.
A print copy of the schedule will be provided to you when you check-in for the weekend on campus.

For your reference, the 2012 Parent & Family Weekend Schedule is available for download below.  The 2013 schedule will be similar.  Many of our events begin as early as 10:00am on Friday, October 25, 2013.  We encourage you to consider arriving in St. Louis on Thursday evening in order to take full advantage of all of our programs and events.

**Please note that some of the programs and events listed in the schedule are sponsored by student organizations.  Student organizations have the option to publish these events in our schedule and coordinate the ticket purchasing process through the First Year Center, however, not all chose to do so.  Additionally, some student groups choose to host student-only events over Parent & Family Weekend.

Unfortunately, the First Year Center is unable to guarantee the availability of your student based on his or her own academic and co-curricular schedule.  Please discuss your student's plans with him or her prior to planning your weekend.

Attending Classes
At check-in, we will provide you with a list of courses that are available to observe on Friday; however some of those classes may have scheduled exams.  Feel free to attend classes with or without your student.

Please note, very few classes are offered on Friday after 2:00 PM.  If attending classes interests you, please plan accoridingly.  Another note, at Washignton University, classes begin 10 minutes after their published start time.  For example, a 10:00 AM class does not begin until 10:10 AM, this allows our students to travel between academic buildings.

Coordinating with your student

Please note that classes are still in session on Friday, October 25.  Many classes will be available for you to observe, however some classes may have scheduled exams, presentations, or projects, and your student will need to attend their classes that day.

We suggest that you check with your student ahead of time regarding their homework and study schedule for the weekend.  It is possible your student may have exams, presenations, or projects the week following Parent & Family Weekend.
