Language Study
Cultural fluency is an important skill for 21st century leadership, and one of the best ways to achieve it is to study another language. WU offers instruction in sixteen different languages, enabling you either to continue learning a language you've already begun or to begin studying a new one - or maybe both! Additionally, many Overseas Programs require a minimum proficiency in the target language, so if your college plans include study abroad, and we hope they do, you will want to begin your language study early in your WU career.
Libraries
The university libraries are a key resource for success. You can check library locations and hours, browse holdings, request or renew materials, view many online books and articles, chat live with a staff member, and learn about Washington University’s unique collections.

Undergraduate Research Office
The purpose of this office is to promote and facilitate research by undergraduates. Research, the creation of new knowledge, is fundamental to the mission of the University. Likewise the education of undergraduates is fundamental to the mission: the learning opportunity in research is the experience of intellectual inquiry. We facilitate undergraduate research by maintaining a knowledge base of available opportunities, by uniting students and mentors, and by assisting with funding. We promote undergraduate research by providing forums for presentation of research, by assisting students to make effective presentations, and by informing our community of these activities.

Washington University Student Associates (WUSA)
WUSAs support new students through their academic and social transition to the University.  They serve as mentors, academic resources, celebrate milestones (such as the end of a big exam) and remind new students of important deadlines such as add/drop and course registration.  You might also see them around your residential college floor with a place of brownies or hosting monthly events for transfer & exchange students such as Festivus and spring tie-dying.
